I saved a column from a single post layout as an element – and then went to another layout to place it. It wouldn’t place.
Is there an article on how to correctly to this?
I was hoping to use that layout as a widget more or less – as I’m not sure how to do that via the built in wordpress widgets option.

Unfortunately a column cannot be saved as an element, you can only save modified elements that way it will be easier for you when you will build another template.
