Search Box instead of a pop up

Hi, what would be the easiest way to change the pop-up search box (when you click on it) to a more traditional search box feel? Like a rectangle or something… and you type in the search words immediately.

If you want to replace the newspaper live search with a standard WordPress search widget, you can first hide the search: https://www.screencast.com/t/8NL6SfvxKHQK
and then find a custom implementation to get a search in the main menu such as https://wordpress.stackexchange.com/questions/205657/how-do-i-add-a-search-box-to-the-nav-menu

Thanks, it worked! But after closer experience I think it may not work as well aesthetically as the fixed length search box does not work well with the auto-resizing.
