After the latest update the search icon in my menu bar is not working in Chrome or iOS Safari.
It works fine on macOS Safari.
Can anyone help identify the problem?

Hi,
The search link is not working, also the more from author link in posts is not working, block pagination, maybe others.
There seems to be a javascript error in the page. That is usually caused by plugins or code entered in the theme panel, theme files or child theme.
I see that all the links are opening inside a new tab, how exactly did you do that? try to temporarily remove the plugin or modification made and return to default. Maybe that is what is causing the links to not function correctly.
Thanks
Thanks, I disabled that functionality but it didn’t resolve the issue.
Do you have any other ideas?
Hi,
Some of those suggestions almost always solve the problem. Deactivating all plugins (except theme plugins) remove theme modifications and code entered in the theme panel temporarily, deactivate the child theme. Clearing caching and CDN if used.
If you tried those suggestion to no effect, we could take a look. Send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login access. Include a link to this topic in the email.
Note that currently the website is not working properly, it fails to load for a few minutes, then there are a lot of errors

Contact your hosting provider or server administrator to check what is happening.
Thanks
Hi Simon,
I deactivated all of my plugins and ruled that out as an issue. Here is the site plugin-free on staging: https://greenerideal.staging.wpengine.com/
The search still doesn’t work.
I tried running the core theme rather than the Child theme and search works there, so it must be a modification made to a Child theme in the past. However, whatever that change is worked until the 2nd most recent version of the Theme.
Can you help me identify what files I should be looking in that may have caused this issue?
Thanks,
Ian
Hi,
If it works without the child theme then the problem is there. That must mean that you are loading old theme files that were modified, and those modifications do not work with the latest theme. We include a list if modified files with each theme update

If you modified one or more of those files and it has also been modified by us in an update, there could be problems.
Try to remove files from the child theme one at a time while checking if this solves the problem. You must identify what the cause is. Also check code in the functions file of the child theme.
Thanks
Correction — functions.php didn’t resolve it. It appeared to at first but not after a second try.
I haven’t made changes to any other affected files.

So the problem is not caused by the child theme or plugins, in the staging website. The website is still not functioning correctly, there are missing resources

The theme stylesheet seems not to be found on the server, so it is not loaded. I suggest you contact your hosting and ask them to take a look at those 404 not found errors.
Regarding the main website, please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login so we can take a look. Make a full backup before. Include a link to this topic in the email.
