Hello!
I have recently updated to Newspaper 7.1. I do not like how the mobile theme works so I am intending to keep on using the usual responsive design from Newspaper 6. I have noticed one issue though. The search feature does not work on mobile anymore. http://surfa.se/
Previously the search field appeared when you clicked the search icon but now the page zooms out and the search field never appear. Am I doing something wrong?
Sincerely Joel
Hello surfa,
I have checked your website and I saw that you search icon are not working for your mobile version. Also, I have checked and your console and I have notice that you have some js errors, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/6AwBvVwYd2 Please notice that these errors come from your untested plugins which you are using for your side. Please try to disable all the active plugins, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all your caches and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflicting plugins. Please keep in mind that our theme is very complex and we do not recommend using untested plugins because these could make some interferences with the theme code and might cause a lot of unknown issues, like this.
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes after you will follow this advice.
Thanks for your understanding!
Hello!
I have now tried to disable all plugins with no success. I can see no difference in how the search buttons behave after I disable all non-approved plugins. I have tried disabling cache in my browser and everything else I can think of.
I do not know if it is related but I have also noticed that other custom scripts that I use in some posts have also stopped working. They do not work even when I disable all non-approved plugins.
Hello surfa,
I have checked your source page again and I saw that your untested plugins are still there. Please try to DISABLE all the active plugins and leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all your caches, purge CDN files if you are using CDN system and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme to rule out the conflicting plugins. Also, please try to bring the theme to have the default state, without any additional customization to avoid these cases. Please notice that our theme has been tested and does not have this behaviour on mobile version, as you can see in our demo here -> http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/ Please notice that our theme is very complex and has a lot of lines of code and if you are using some plugins which are not tested with our theme might appear a lot of unknown issues, like this case. So, if your problem is still there after these tips, please try to make a new install only via FTP with the latest version of the theme and check the results in the default mode.
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Thanks for your understanding!
