Maybe there are plugins for this as well.
2. There are no search settings available. The theme uses the default WordPress search which does not have any settings. If you want a search with more control over the results or settings, you could use a plugin

Check some free plugins to begin with.
3. The theme doesn’t keep any search statistics. Maybe search plugins have this capability.
Or you could check some plugins that are made specifically for keeping statistics, or Google analytics
