I had already noticed this problem when upgrading from 10.3.1 to 10.3.2, but now it’s still happening when upgrading from 10.3.1 to 10.3.3: after the theme update the header and footer items along with background image and banner ads have all disappeared. Unfortunately, we cannot recreate this issue!
Can you provide wp-admin and CPanel/FTP access to your staging/dev site?

If you have custom modifications, I recommend to use one of the “classic update” methods (upload theme via wordpress, FTP or CPanel).

Thank you Alin, I just sent you the credentials of the staging site. I have had this very same situation happen at multiple Newspaper sites I maintain, so hopefully you guys can figure it out.
