Settings won't save?

I’m having an odd problem. In the Newsmag theme panel, I can’t seem to save any changes I make to the theme. Just for an example, under “Header” I tried to change the logo used in my sticky menu from the header logo to mobile logo. Clicked “Save Settings”, and then the ‘loading’ animation that pops up to indicate that it’s saving just spins and spins and spins. If I let it, it’ll spin forever until I refresh the page, at which point none of my changes have been saved.

So how do I go about fixing this? It’s been a while since I’ve made any theme changes so I can’t really say how long this has been happening. No idea if the recent WordPress update triggered this or if maybe it was something else.

Hi

Make sure you’re using latest theme version available on themeforest, V 2.3.6, Also update Visual Composer at V 4.11.2 whici is included in theme’s path, clear all caches and test again. Here you can find our update documentation: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-the-theme/https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/

Thanks!

Hey @andrei_luca,

So I did what you said, updated both the theme and Visual Composer. I’ve cleared my caches (caching plugin, my personal computer, and my CDNs) and I’m still not able to save changes. When I click “Save Settings” that animated square just stays there. I’ve already gone through and checked to see if it was a plugin that’s interfering, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. Im not really sure what else to do.

When you use WordFence it is the new firewall function(https://www.wordfence.com/blog/2016/04/wordfence-announces-firewall-threat-defense-feed/).

You have to set the “Firewall Status” to “Learning Mode” and save it. After that you have to update the theme panel. After that you can set the “Firewall Status” again to “Enabled and Protecting”. So the functions of the theme panel are whitelisted.

You find the Firewall here: https://urltowebsite.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=WordfenceWAF
