Has anyone implemented an Email option for the share post buttons? When clicked, it would simply open a users default email client and add the current URL with a short bit of text (for example,”I found this. Thought you might be interested”.) So they can share your posts with friends. This was a very popular option on an old site I built.
Will try to code it myself, but was hoping someone had already done so. 🙂

PS – I’d rather add to the Newspaper themes share post functionality, rather than install a separate plugin.

Unfortunately, our theme does not have such an option for it, sorry! I have added this suggestion to our list of improvements. In a future update, it is possible but we cannot say for sure if it will get done in the next update because we have a big list of fixes, improvements, and suggestions to implement. It’s hard to filter them and select which one gets implemented now and which one gets postponed. The developers decide if it gets done or not, though. Until we can do it, you can use a plugin.

Unfortunately there is no update on this and I cannot promise it will get done as we can only pass the information on to our development team and they are the ones that decide if it will get done or not. Please understand that we have hundreds of suggestions and we cannot honor all of them. We have to prioritize our work.
