Friends, I recently upgraded to version 7.5 of Newsapper. After this, I noticed that the blocks of the home were completely misaligned, evidencing a conflict with the Shim Plugin.
The Shim plugin is very useful for us because it solved the problems of server overload, besides making the site much faster in loading.
I wish there was an update of the Shim plugin to resolve this incompatibility.
Thank you very much.
Hey!
as one of the original “make me a shim!” proponents back in the day, I know what you mean.
So – you might try the “successor” to that shim which is the new TagDiv Composer plugin, which can replace VC, and has all the blocks and more that the shim supported. 🙂
So you can build stuff with it, without using VC then switching on the shim. Now, just use the TD Composer and ditch VC and the ooooooold (2014?) shim.
Basically the shim is no longer supported, as far as I know. The TD Composer is the way to go. See the sticky post top of forum.
I’m using it on all our sites now. 🙂
Try it ! 🙂
Hello Chris S. First of all I want to thank you for your attention. I had read about TD composer, but I did not quite understand its purpose of being a SHIM strand. Maybe I did not understand because of my poor English LOL !!!
I followed your guidelines, but from the beginning I received the following error:
Errors happened during tdcIframeData.init () -> bindViewsModelsWrappers ()!
I tried to disable all plugins to work with only it, and still the error appears in the superrior part of the block editing screen.
Could you tell me what might be going on?
Thank you very much!
Hi fabinhoalmeida,
I had the same problem with errors using TD Composer downloaded from the forum link.
To solve the problem follow this link: https://www.wpion.com/
Download tagdiv’s IonMag theme (a free version of Newspaper/Newsmag theme) and Version 1.0 of the plugin comes pre-packed with the theme files.
Just unzip the theme and you will find the TD Composer zip file in ionmag>includes>plugins
Install this and you shouldn’t have any problems.
Hope this helps.
Regards
Kevin
Hello,
The tagdiv composer was updated and it was focused more for the ionmag theme as it uses only the td composer, not visual composer. We will release updates to newspaper and newsmag and the plugin will once again work as expected. We will probably update td_composer on github as well.
Thank you for your understanding.
Very grateful for the help guys!
The “trick” suggested by Kevin worked like a charm.
Sometimes a bug occurs, but nothing that could disrupt the use and construction of the layout through TD composer.
Thanks also to Chris S and congratulations to Bogdan B. and all the TagDiv team for being so great! The best masters at it !!!
Still on the subject, would you be able to tell which function could avoid (dequeue) loading of JS and CSS of TD composer in single pages?
Thank you so much!
Friends, unfortunately I had to disable the TD composer.
I noticed that it was affecting the creation of the permalinks during the creation of a new post.
The permalink field of the post does not appear and sometimes the post was left untitled and without permalink after it was published.
If they figure out a way around this bug, I’d be pleased and grateful.
Thank you again!
