Shortcodes are displaying instead of meta description on homepage link preview

While sharing my homepage link on fb and whatsapp the preview is showings shortcodes like [vc_row_inner css= are displaying instead of meta description
its only on homepage, other pages are working fine.

Hi,

I have checked a post link on Facebook Debugger and it seems to work as expected, as you can see here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/SRbPlhG4 I did not saw a shortcode on meta description section. Try to remove all of the untested plugins, clear all the caches and check the results.

The problems is only with the homepage , all other links are working fine. I tried disabling the plugins and cache, still the homepage url is showing shortcodes..
I used visual composer to build the hompage.

Hi,

The theme cannot control what facebook grabs from the page so you will have to use seo yoast in this regard. https://yoast.com/social-media-optimization-with-yoast-seo/
