How i can show a particular category items as list like menu in side bar like “most popular”. There is block called “Most popular category” but there is no option to select category..

The most popular category is an element that will verify every category based on the post views and show the most popular ones. You cannot filter a specific category to it. If you want a category list in your sidebar there are 2 other options. You can have the full category list (the ‘categories’ element: http://screencast.com/t/diragnMSpw2) or if you want to chose the ones you need to show, you can use a custom menu and add categories to it: http://screencast.com/t/6oBzYVxr3xy

If you add a custom menu widget in the widgets area, there are 2 places it can show up. Either the footer (footer 1, 2 and 3) or a sidebar you can add on posts, pages, or category archives.

the project i am working on there is a need to show categories list when any user click on the menu.. Basically some category are set as menu .
For example i have Category
-Explore city (this category set as main menu and item inside it is dropdown)

Unfortunately the mega-menu will show all sub-categories by default. There is no setting to change this. It can only be done by altering the theme files: http://screencast.com/t/NiBkTBJM7
For your second request, there also is no setting for it as you cannot add content to category pages from the theme panel. This will require coding knowledge as it will not be so easy to do. Or as an alternative, you can maybe find a plugin for category archives.
