Not part of the theme, but likely a developer could help you hack it; for example create another widgetized area at nth spot, then use plugin or query to pull in related content. Trickier to do “inside the post” since it’s the result of the query for the page. Often this is done on other magazine sites with skinny column left of main article so that the query is in its own section. Tricky but not impossible. There isn’t a built in function to do this, obviously.
Chris I’m sure it’ll be tough but obviously it’s not impossible because I’ve seen some similar things on many sites where they show results after top few paragraphs of before bottom few paragraphs.

You could try to find and use a plugin as @Christopher suggested and add the related content into the post content, you can take a look at how the inline ads are added after the paragraphs and build this the same way http://screencast.com/t/8O69gS5FhL
