I added the google adsense code to the “Sidebar Ads” in the theme panel and then went to widgets and attached it to the sidebar but nothing is displaying on my site.. It shows the space where the ad is suppose to appear and I see the adsense code when I View Source but nothing displays. Is there anything else I can check?
Usually it takes Google a little while to “authorize” your site for that ad unit/space.
Additionally, sometimes ad units can show up blank due to error in fetching the item. You can usually solve that by switching the unit to “text ads only” — as the rich media, image based ads sometimes just won’t load and if you visit your site every day, you’ll see that eventually.

if you have two ad spots, make one “text ads only” and the other one “text and image ads” …
