After setting up the theme, everything seems to work just fine, however, can not get the side
bar to appear on the home page. Shows up on posts. I’ve tried different ways to no luck.

Hello,
On pages you have to create the sidebar in visual composer on a split row or use the widgetized sidebar to pull a sidebar from the widgets area.
