Unfortunately the sidebars do not display on certain pages of my site, but they do on others (the same custom sidebar). I’ve tried to look at the html of the page for wrongly inserted tags, plugins that may be causing this, but as they appear on some pages and not others, I’m not sure what’s happening.
Any help is appreciated.

I’ve also checked that the sidebar option is default for pages in the theme settings. As far as I can see, all options are exactly the same for the pages where the sidebar does display.
I’ve also just now updated to the latest Newspaper version and the same issue occurs.

If you set a sidebar manually for the post then that will be displayed. If you do not, then the primary category is taken into account

After looking over the weekend, I have a feeling it’s to do with changing posts into pages. But some pages appear with the sidebar, some don’t.
Pages will behave differently than posts. Posts can have categories and therefor be easier to manipulate their sidebars with the primary category setting.
If you create pages without using the page builders (composers) then the order for the sidebar is like this

Hi, yes I am aware of that. However, for some of the pages (recently converted from posts), do not display any sidebar, even when the default is selected. It’s just a white space.
Try to create a new page, set a sidebar for it from the ones you have or create a new sidebar as well. The sidebar should be displayed. That would mean the problem may be specific to the pages that were covered as you say, or with their sidebars.
The sidebar works for new pages, so I’m pretty sure the issue is with the pages, but having looked through the html I can’t see anything out of the ordinary. Do you have a support email, or can I forward the urls directly to you?
If the sidebar works with default pages, then the problem is with the pages that you mention were converted from posts. That could have affected the resulting pages, that is why the problem appeared.
I don’t know how exactly you made the conversion, we have not made any tests with pages that were converted from posts to see if the functionality is affected in any way. So if the setting from the theme panel does not work
