Hi,
I have updated the newspaper theme to version 7.6 and now I cannot get the sidebar to work. On previous occasions I changed the page template and that helped. Now with none of the templates I get the sidebar to show on the page. Any suggestions? Thanks a lot!

Hello,

The sidebars on pages were removed in the previous version. (7.5) You will have to use visual composer to show sidebars on pages either with a widgetized sidebar element or with a split row in a 2.3 + 1/3 layouyt.

Thank you!

also, visual composer is not working properly. I cannot ad videos or fotos. When i go to edit video player the box that opens only gives me the option to edit the widget title, nothing else

hi.
thanks for the reply.
Can you please explain how to do what you suggested? I do not know what a widgetized sidebar element is or how to use a split row.

HI again,
I have found the widgetized sidebar element, also the 2/3 setting. But what the does is push all the pages content below the sidebar. This is NOT what I want. How do I get the pages looking the way they were before the update? with a sidebar NEXT to the page content and without having to rebuild all the pages one by one? (the updated page is http://www.diefloridaseite.com. Before it looked like http://www.florida.nu, our sister site. That is how it is supposed to look like!)
Please tell me there is an easy way to do this!

Edit the actual default page php template to add the sidebar like in the single post template is best way.

Can’t help you do that, just letting you know how I would do it here if it were me.

You will have to add the widgetized sidebar element in a split row, not on the same column as your main content. You want the sidebar on the right not below the content. Use a layout like so: http://screencast.com/t/3TrAIpoT

Thank you!
