Single Image, Site Banner and Facebook Social Counter Setup

Catalin:

First, thanks for all your help with my previous inquiries over the past year. Much appreciated.

I’m writing with three questions.

1) I updated my site from 7.8.1 to 8. Once I did that, the Single Image Composer in Visual Composer no longer displays the image correctly. It’s my site logo on the home page of rovertreks.com. I’ve tried adjusting sizes, re-installing, and nothing seems to work. Any suggestions?

2) I would like to post my logo as a banner across the top of all pages? How do I do that? Up to this point, I’ve run the logo as a large single image to identify my site name.

3) I cannot get social counter to recognize my Facebook feed to display the number of followers. I’ve followed the troubleshooting procedures you folks recommend: clearing cache, reloading pages, etc. Nothing works. Any suggestions?

As always, I appreciate your help and advice. Thanks, tom

I should add, to my initial query re Single Image Resolution, I’ve seen a separate response from you about how to fix this on here (to “freshmedia?”), and the YouTube tips you cite are of no help.

Update: Please disregard question #3. I fixed the problem by regenerating a secret key for the Facebook app.

With respect to question #1, the rendering of the single image on my home page displays an image crop in Chrome and Safari. It appears just fine in Firefox.

Thanks.

Hi,

1. For the image problem, please try to deactivate the tagDiv composer if it is active and see if it displays properly. If not disable all your other plugins except Visual composer, clear any caching installed and check again.

2. You can have any element you wanton top of your pages created in a page editor. If you mean to have an image on top of all pages, like category pages and post pages, it would take modification to the theme files. Please correct me if I misunderstand.

I cannot see your website unfortunately because of the security plugin, I don’t have access.

Thanks

Simon:

Thanks for your tips. The TagDiv composer was the problem!

As for #2, yes, I’d like a banner running across the top of every page of my site. You’ve confirmed it will take a modification of theme files to do that. What I want to put up is the site logo so that I don’t have to put a single image of the logo on every page.

Can you convey what modification of the theme files I must make to accomplish this? Thanks, tom

Hi,

You could edit the Header style template that you are using. Then the image you want will be displayed everywhere, while only adding it once. Here you can find the header style files in the theme – https://www.screencast.com/t/XTSfTZlh0mIo
You could simply insert the banner image at the end of the header code. Like in this example maybe – https://www.screencast.com/t/zEsb8iwf
The image will be displayed above the header like this

Of course you can further customize the positioning if you want and other aspects.

Thanks
