I have a problem here. I’m using a template for the Legal category, where I have a Single Post Background Featured Image for the article’s featured image and a Single Post Featured Image for featured audio.
This works fine, but when the article doesn’t have featured audio, the featured image is repeated.
How can I prevent this?

This happens because normally there should be only one Featured Image element. When the Single Post Featured BG Image element is used, it will display only the image. When the other Single Post Featured Image element is used, it automatically displays the image, video, or audio, depending on what is available.
If you want to use both elements, the best approach is to create a separate Single Post Template: Keep your current template as it is.
Create another template that uses only one Featured Image element.
Next, create a category called Audio (or something similar) and assign the Single Post Template that contains both Featured Image elements to this category. You can do this from Newspaper > Theme Panel > Categories (see: https://i.imgur.com/WMuJgfj.png ).
This way: The global Single Post Template will use only one Featured Image.
Posts assigned to the Audio category will use the template with two Featured Image elements.
Finally, make sure to assign the Audio category to your audio articles so they use the correct Single Post Template.
