Single Post Table of Contents – how to remove show/hide

Hi,

I’ve come across another nuisance since updating to 12.6.9. I didn’t like that [show] and [hide] was added to the table of contents by default – changes that affect the appearance of users’ sites really should be optional.

What’s more problematic is that if I untick the ‘expand/narrow the table of contents’ the list doesn’t show as standard, instead requiring the user to click show.

This seems unusual behaviour. What I want is to go back to having a table of contents without the option to show or hide. Is this achievable given the available settings?
