i just uploaded this via my theme panel in wordpress and the site is broken.

the blog will display when you type the domain name, but when i try to enter the dashboard EVERYTHING goes white. If I try ANY link to the dashboard everything goes white. The page tries to load for a split second and then just goes dead and white

Hi,
Your site code seems to be minify. Please disable the minify! Do you use W3 Total cache plugin? Use W3 total cache only with Page cache enable.
Also please make sure you have copied all files on the update, what you can do is to make a full update to be sure you have all files.

Ok, I have deleted the theme via ftp and reactivated a base them.
What should I do with this theme now? Any ideas why this happened?
Ok i have reuploaded the Newspaper theme via FTP, and it is installed.
I have not tried to activate it again though as the same thing will happen.
A clue here; there is a problwm with the live Preview – it doesn’t work. When I press live preview, it tries to load again with the small grey circular icon for a split second then everything goes white.
IS it possible there is no style sheet maybe? ( i dont know much about this stuff)
i will try minify now
OK i turned off Minify and nothing
I turned off W3 total cache completely, and nothing –
Live preview still going white as above.
Any more ideas?

After installing the theme via ftp as above, and it not working, i deleted it from inside the wordpress dashboard and the whitescreen came up saying

The theme did delete ok though

How you have updated the theme? You need only to replace all files via FTP.

i have once again activated w3 total cache, disabled minify and cashing, and then i have emptied all caches. Then i disabled the plugin and re-installed the theme. It is still not working and the same things are happening.
I tried to redownload the theme too and the same things are happening.
I think there is something wrong with the download?
Marius I can wait until tomorrow no problem, but i dont want to give ftp access. I can wait a day i understand- get some sleep, but if we can’t fix this I’ll need my money back.
i think there is a problem with the download, maybe you could email me a theme in a zip folder or something. I have a funny feeling there is no style sheet in the download.

Can you give us access to your WP if you can’t give us FTP? Everything should work fine, the theme have no issue. Give us access to your WP and we will try to install the theme for you. Like i told you the issue above was from minify.
Or could be from your server configuration.

Can you look at the page source now and tell me if it is using minify? I have it deactivated. I have tried again and failed to install the theme.
I don’t think it’s the server as all other themes work fine.
Mariau, as I have asked, can you tell me where the style sheet is supposed to be located in the zip file? I think that might be the problem as I can’t see it.
Any chance of getting this sorted today guys? Or a refund if it’s too much hassle?

I don’t see what giving you access to my wordpress site is going to do – Every single other theme i have tried is working fine except yours. i have disabled plugins and reactivated. And nothing is happening.
You have NOT came back to tell me if this is a stylesheet issue yet either for some reason, to tell me where it is in the download – so i can check if it is there ( i can’t find it)
So can you please help me out here – you have my licence number, i have been a good themeforest customer, and I either want to get this sorted ASAP or want my money back.
Something else that might help – the theme installation takes ages compared to a few other themes i have installed in the last few days to test the comparitive upload times
Wordpress would tell you if there was a missing style-sheet in a theme and not let you install it.
I think you should chill out a bit. They obviously got lots of other stuff to do to get it working with wp 3.9 again and it’s already great that they support each single user by even customising their themes (my opinion ;-))

@Donkified You bought something and are having a unique issue (One that hasn’t been mentioned anywhere on this forum or the comments on Envato) that Marius has generously offered to fix for you (Theme installation and setup is not a free service included with theme purchase). You have declined him access for a first hand look. I’ve done this kind of support before and first-hand is the fastest way to get it done. Relying on an inexperienced blog owner (No offense intended at all) to give programming details is always slow, frustrating, and barely eventually as effective as just looking at the code.

As far as the white screen loading, Newspaper is a website them, not a WordPress admin theme. So if it’s going white on the backend it’ll either give you an error at the top of the screen in black text that you need to share with us here or there is a plugin conflict that’s causing this. Your site and this theme have been given major upgrades over the past month so a plugin not playing nice with everything is not only possible, it’s likely.
1. Deactivate and delete the Newspaper theme
2. Deactivate and delete all plugins
3. Re-install 3.9 from Dashboard -> Upgrades menu
4. Do NOT use FTP for the above instructions – use WordPress if at all possible
5. If you have to use FTP, make sure your client is in binary transfer mode before you upload anything
6. With only Jetpack and Akismet plugins (If you use them) installed or activated on the site, activate Newspaper
7. Test drive the site and see if it all works.
8. REPORT FINDINGS BACK HERE
Short of you correctly following those instructions you will need to let Marius on your site to fix the issue with your site (Thousands of other people using this theme without this issue means it is localized to your setup).
Make sure you are downloading the WordPress installable theme file from your Envato downloads panel and do not change the name or file extension. This theme does take longer to install on the WordPress theme installer – that’s normal. Every theme is a different size and themes with less than 30% of the features of Newspaper are obviously smaller files.
Make sure you have WordPress 3.9 installed!
You purchased this theme from Marius (tagDiv team member). Please make this easier and take his FREE help and give him access to your site. Others have done it and been very pleased with his work. He doesn’t make his living from the rest of us if he scams you.
BTW – I’m not with tagDiv, just another customer like you with a background in programming and design trying to help. The fact that other customers are speaking up for the theme and trying to help you says a lot! Think about it.

Yeah it is a pain to do, you have my sympathies.
I just can’t stress enough letting him at least have an admin account on your site to check things out. Marius probably can spot the issue with his own eyes in a few minutes and have you up and running.
Short of that, I’ll subscribe to this thread and watch for your next reply. Maybe we can figure it out the hard way.
Sure. Glad it’s working for you now. You’re really going to like the features of this theme.
You should go ahead and start enabling the plugins you want to use one by one, testing the site after each activation to make sure things are still working correctly. Once you find the plugin that breaks it again, post the name of it here so the developers know what plugin it is and may possibly be able to fix the incompatibility from their end in the next update.
