Site has "high priority" problems in GTmetrix

Hi again

After installing Newspaper at our site, I ran it through GTmetrix to check the site.

I’m a little surpriced to see that there’s two “high priority” problems regarding images, as I got the impression from your demo, that you were quite focused on handling images.

As you can see here, I’d like to solve the two trop problems – specifying image dimensions and serving scaled images instead of loading a huge image and the just resizing the look on screen:

Hello,

That issue is due to the responsive nature of the site. GTmetrix expects the theme to load a different set of images for each resolution. I think they test the site on a 1024px resolution and the site shrinks the images a bit. That is not doable because wordpress will have to generate a LOT of thumbnails for each resolution. Most of the themes (at least the wider ones) have this problem on GTmetrix.
