I do not know what happened, but my site was down. I updated the Newspaper theme by FTP and now only one blank page appears asking for ‘password’
I need urgent help.

Login via FTP and disable all plugins by changing plugins directory to xplugins;
delete all themes except the default ones.
This will allow you to login.
Once logged in, go to appearance, themes and change to “twenty-sixteen.”
Rename xplugins back to plugins; Then turn back on only those known plugins which are good.
Then properly install the NP theme, plugins, and then activate again.
Theme does not control account login in any way for the admin user.
