What is the default site width? I’ve searched the forums and documentation. Where would that be found?

Hello awtown,
The actual width site is set up by default to 1021px. Notice that the theme does not support another width and if you want to increase it you should do it yourself. Also, if you are not aware of the steps which are needed to take in this case, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you because you can easily break the layout of the site.
