The thing is that in order to display some posts in revolution slider is set to filter these posts after a category, in this case the category was Featured, that is why when you delete it the revolution slier stop to work, because the filtered category was removed.

As I can see from your screenshot you have made a template slider that should display some posts, the settings seems to be fine, you display the posts from 2 categories and each one has 2 posts, where is the problem ? the slider do not display these posts ? please provide some more details and a link where I can inspect this situation.
