Is there a way to change the slider speed?

Hi

You can set the time between each posts displayed in slide block from its settings like here: http://screencast.com/t/LUyUXZ43oU

If this is not what you mean please provide more details about what your trying to do so I can inspect this closer and get back to you with a more accurate answer.
