Smart list 4 Thumbnail size

Hi I was wondering if there was a way that I can change the size of the image that shows on the right hand side on smart list 4. Currently any image you add will be cropped into a square shape. However I am using the list to write book reviews and the pictures are book covers which need to be a rectangle that is taller than it is wide (portrait) shape or they don’t look right.

Is there anyway of doing this?

Thanks!

Hi,

That smart list style uses the thumbnail size created by WordPress

So if you want to modify the size of the images in that smart lists style, modify the WordPress thumbnail size. Be sure to regenerate the thumbnails after you modify the values

I’ve come across this issue too. Your solution sounds a bit dangerous, do you think it will be possible to choose the thumbnail rather than defaulting to the 15×150 thumbnail in a future update?

Hi,

@Alastair Dixon Currently in a smart list there is no setting to choose the thumbnail or image size that it uses.
Smart list 4 uses the thumbnail size created by WordPress as mentioned above.

I could add a request on our list so that the respective smart list style uses a thumbnail created by the theme instead. That is all I can do. It will be considered for a future update. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Thanks

Hi Simion,
thanks for the reply. What I mean is WOrdpress generated over thumbnail sizes too (300px x 300px for example) which I believe holds aspect ratios of the original image. I’d love to be able to use that one rather than the smallest thumb of 150×150.
