We have just noticed that since that latest update 7.2 our Smart Lists are counting wrong. Instead of 1-5 they show 2-6, or instead of 1-10 it is 2-11…

I have tested on my side this type of smart list and everything seems to are counting as properly. Please try to disable all the active plugins, leave just Visual Composer to active and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflicting plugins. Try to clear all your caches and test it again.

Thanks! We’ve tested each plugin separately and it is the Jetpack plugin causing the issue. Specifically it’s the Related Content bit of Jetpack that is causing the issue. We have de-activated that for now but what do you think causes this clash with Jetpack and how to we fix it?

Please notice that the Jetpack is a very complex plugin which contains a lot of modules. Until now, we have encountered a lot of issues generated by this plugin, regarding on some of them and please keep in mind that some of their modules are not working as properly with our theme, sorry! If you want to make this plugin working 100% as properly with our theme you will have to do some additional customizations in the code to adjust this bunch of plugins to our theme which requires custom work. If you want to display more levels in our theme and you are not aware of the steps in this regard, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you!

Catalin – I understand and appreciate your position but equally Jetpack is the most popular wordpress plugin available so you should at least attempt to test and work with it. The reason we use the related content module is that the one that comes with Newspaper just isn’t up to scratch – it is a very basic version and we need some intelligence in displaying related content from our 5,000+ posts.
Something in 7.2 broke as it was working perfectly up till now.
I’m also not sure what you mean by “If you want to display more levels in our theme and you are not aware of the steps in this regard, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you!” as this is a compatibility issue between your theme and Jetpack not a customization issue.

Yes, I agree with you with the latest reply, it is just a compatibility issue between our theme and Jetpack but this maybe could be adjusted with custom services for better results. Try to find another plugin with this functionality and see how it will work for your side.
