According to Calin’s post (https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/custom-templates-problem-9-7-3/#post-297470) Newspaper no longer has the Sidebar widget element in TD Composer.
How do we replicate this going forward with TD Composer?

Hello !
In order to have sidebar widgets you will have to edit the row layout and then just insert the elements you want. All this can be achieved using the tagDiv Composer. Here is a short example: https://www.screencast.com/t/pmc1WiV3EL And like this you can edit the existing rows too.

That … doesn’t really help. That’s just putting articles on the side.
I did find a workaround though, folks. I got a plugin called Widget Shortcode, from there you can use the element, “Text with title”.
Press Edit Content and get the shortcode for the widget and place it in there.
You can find the shortcode in the Appearance>Widgets section, just press on the widget you want to use and you’ll see it at the bottom of the drop down.
