In Facebook API 2.6, to get the like count for a page, it changed from fields=likes to fields=fan_count.
I’m trying to see if I can change my developer settings to use an earlier version of the API, but by default it chooses 2.6. This breaks the social counter plugin for Facebook as it will automatically force you to use 2.6 instead of 2.0 as coded in the plugin.
Probably easier to change the plugin to edit the value?
I have several workarounds like using an old Facebook developer account I created for a different site or editing the plugin for the time being, but I’m just bringing it to their attention as their plugin will have to be updated. You can’t create a new app in the Facebook developer console without being forced to use version 2.6 of their API.
