Delete your current social plugin. Then upload and install the td-social-counter from your newspaper zip.

oh wow! This fix after my upgrade didn’t work for me either.

Please try to update your theme to the latest version of the theme and also, please ensured that you have updated all your require plugins -> Visual Composer ->4.11.2, Social Counter 4.0, WordPress 4.5.2, clear all your caches and test it again. Does FB need an app and security id to show my like count? I did the procedure as prescribed but only have my facebook id as before. Still no like count.

I have checked your website and I saw that your Social Counter works as properly. Also, please notice that the Social Counter uses Visual Composer and if this plugin is not updated correctly, the counter will not working.

Thanks. Looks like it takes a while to start showing the count. It didn’t work instantly after applying the fix and flushing the cache.
