Social counter widget: Facebook likes not updating

Hi,

I’m using the social counter widget with the wordpress theme and I’ve created a Facebook app, published and enabled the app and added the app id and secret to the widget but the Facebook counter still shows 0 likes. Is there a possible fix for this? Thanks!

Thanks for getting back to me, is there a way I can send you some screen shots? I am unsure how you got to a screencast. When I click on the Fb link on the Home page of DineDrinkBellingham.com i takes you to a Fb page that says ‘This Page is Not Available” however you can see in the address bar on that page that it is puttin in two addresses: https://www.facebook.com/https://www.facebook.com/DineDrinkBellingham/ (that was copied and pasted from FB.

In the widget I am using Fb Id:

Fb App ID:

931064857030356

Fb Security Key:

a58886d5535fa07e232684f439c8912c

And access token:

931064857030356|rXMAGNx8GyL3rOLwrAOho82XB-g

If I’ve followed the tutorial correctly, then I have set it up correctly, but website counter is still stuck on 1, but there are 29 Likes on Fb now.

Hi Bogdan,

Yes your screencast is correct, but as you will see, there are two Fb URLs in the address bar — it looks like:
https://www.facebook.com/https://www.facebook.com/DineDrinkBellingham/

but my Facebook Id is:

https://www.facebook.com/DineDrinkBellingham/ — if you go to that URL the Fb page works fine.

The Fb Id URL I’ve put into the widget is also:

https://www.facebook.com/DineDrinkBellingham/ (this was copied directly from the widget)

But it does not work,

The id is now DineDrinkBellingham but no love. It does bring you to the correct Fb page now however. I had actually been using this in the past but changed to the full URL at the suggestion of someone in another forum. I have been attempting to get this to work for about 3 weeks now with no luck.

So I have 29 likes on Fb, but my counter still is stuck on 1.

At this point I’ve reviewed the tutorials, believe I’ve installed the widget correctly, reinstalled the widget, re-created my Facebook app, have double checked to make sure the Fb app info is correct in the widget and have tried all the suggestion from you and the various forums, and this still is not working. Not sure what I could be doing wrong at this point.
