Social Media Not Linking Correctly

When I add my social networks in either the Theme panel or on individual users the link on the Author Panel, footer and top bar will use my website URl instead of the social media website. For example: http://www.mywebsite.com/mytwitter instead of http://www.twitter.com/mytwitter

Help.

I believe you need to put the full URL to your twitter account into the user (author) panel, not just the @account.

If you’re doing that, sorry for the comment 🙂

Hi,

Thanks Chris!

@rugosity
Please check if you added the full url like Chris suggested, usually this issue appear when http:// is not used. Let me know how it goes and also provide your site url so we can take a look.

Thanks!

Hi, Thank you. Chris’s suggestion worked. Sorry for all the n00b questions still getting my feet wet with the theme.

This is a problem we are encountering when adding Twitter to User accounts. We’ve used
@userstwitterhandle
userstwitterhandle
https://twitter.com/userstwitterhandle

When saving the theme bumps all of these but
userstwitterhandle

This works fine in the icons that appear in the Author box at the bottom of Posts.

When on the “Author” page, hovering on the Twitter icon under the User’s profile shows this address:
http://comptonherald.com/author/joe-richardson-esq/joespeak and clicking this link leads to a 404 page.

Hi,

Please disable all plugins except of Visual Composer, clear cache and try to add again the full url for twitter spot and see if you still have this issue. Try to disable also any js/css minification.

Thanks!
