Social Sharing Icons on Top of Article?

How can I put social sharing icons on top of the article instead of having it only below?

The simplest way at the moment, which is what I did, is to turn off the function in the theme customizer under posts; then install the AddThis plugin and set that to “print” at top of the post, which appears below featured image. This was simplest thing without hacking the current theme. Might not be what you want, but if you’re looking for ‘easy’ this is one way to do it 🙂

Thanks for the idea. But I do want to know how to edit the single.php file to add it directly.
