While I understand that API issues / unexpected mistakes happen, in the event this ever happens in the future, I think an alternate alert on the front page of site that use your theme would be better. This “error” made thousands of us who run credible sites that have advertisers and trusted readers think we were using illegal copies of the theme while our sites were down without warning which was quite damaging. Thanks.
Agreed. It’s one thing to experience the website going down because of some hosting or code hiccup. It’s quite another to be publicly accused of something you didn’t do and have no control over how many of your own readers see it and maybe never come back.
Please let us know that how much time it will take……

Hello,
We are very sorry that this problem will affect you, we did not want to affect your websites or make you look bad.
Even if it is active, you must reset it and activate it again.
Regarding widgets, please check if they are set, normally the key reset should not affect them.
Thank you for your understanding!
Totally agree with one of the commenters.
I run 3 websites with your theme and your error message was displayed to my long-year customers, who think I’m using stolen software now. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY A NO-GO! Please change this asap.
Unfortunately, the damage to the trust of my customers is very large and in some cases can no longer be repaired.
In my community I know other developers, who using this theme as well and thinking about to change to another one.
