Unfortunately that is the only place where you can set the code for Google Analyticsin our theme panel.
Setting the code in the Google Analytics -> https://www.screencast.com/t/2uIbdxQ6kCQ is like you set the code directly in theme files and the code will not be overwrite as in them file after each update.
