We have two separate installs (production and staging) on WPEngine that initially are copies of each other with Newspaper installed and setup in a certain way. We have done a few Newspaper panel setting changes, with the result that one of the copies won’t stretch anymore on the frontpage. Other pages that are supposed to stretch are doing just that.
I seem to remember that this had something to do with certain combinations prevented the stretch function. Language settings perhaps?
The site is not public yet so I have to give you guys a uid/pwd for the basic auth. How do you want that?
Best,

OK, the first HTML is the one working, the secon is the one not working. Thre seems to be no attachment function, so I just pasted the code instead. Hope that works out.
Looking at the code and comparing it seems that line 1418 and 1419 differ in that the working one has an extra class “td-container” @1418 that is missing on the not working one?
And @line 1419 there’s some extra HTML 5 tags (data-vc-full-width) that’s missing in the not working one. Is this something that’s fixable by me or a theme fix?
Hello, niknas,
On the future, please do not copy/paste all the theme’s code here, as a text because it’s not okay for us and the others users which search such solutions through our forum, sorry! Regarding on your problem, please be more specific because I do not exactly understand what you mean. To be safe, you should make a new clean install from scratch via FTP way for that domain and install the latest theme version according to our useful manual, clear the caches and check the results. Notice that the entire theme’s code is the same and should not be any differences between two installs.
Hope this helps!
Thanks for your understanding!
Thank you for the pastebin! Forgot about that!
The problem is that the front page that had a streched out header, is no longer streched, but boxed. This happened when we did some small changes in the theme panel unrelated to the stretch, such as importing a new translation and changing the footer settings. I kind of traced the problem to the lines I mentioned above (1418 and 1419) that have different classes for some reason even though they are from the same backup. I CAN get the theme to work by just restoring the version before the changes, but this has happened before in the same way so I was hoping you perhaps could see the what the cause of the problem is instead of me being afraid to change anything.

Stretch OK:
<div class=”td-main-content-wrap td-main-page-wrap td-container-wrap”>
<div class=”td-container tdc-content-wrap”>
<div data-vc-full-width=”true” data-vc-full-width-init=”false” data-vc-stretch-content=”true” class=”vc_row wpb_row td-pb-row vc_row-no-padding”>
Stretch not OK:
<div class=”td-main-content-wrap td-main-page-wrap td-container-wrap”>
<div class=”tdc-content-wrap”>
<div id=”td_uid_1_59c0e31eed38f” class=”tdc-row stretch_row_content_no_spaces”>
OK, turns out that this line of code line #49 in page.php add the class td-container:
<div class=”<?php if (!td_util::tdc_is_installed()) { echo ‘td-container ‘; } ?>tdc-content-wrap”>
Unless the TagDiv builder is disabled, the class is not added and the javascript that is supposed to stretch the content does not execute? Does that make sense?
If I disable the plugin, it works. If I enable it, it does not stretch the content.
Best,
Niklas//
Hello Niklas,
I guess that you have made some changes in your backend and notice that should not be done, sorry! Try to disable all of the untested plugins, leave just to active only the plugins that come bundled with the theme core files and check the results. Notice that I have made some tests on my website and the Stretch header seems to work as expected, without any problem, anytime.
If the problem is still there, you should send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com with your log-in information (wp-admin) so we can further inspect it closer your setup page. Provide there the link to this topic so we can quickly identify you.
Thanks for your understanding!
No worries, and I understand your point of view and would say the same if I were in your shoes. It just seems to me that the omission of a CSS class depending on if the TagDiv composer plugin is active or not, should not be an issue regardless of the environment. I can just assume that the Javascript responsible for the stretch just can find the CSS selector due to this.
Anyway, it works for us to not use the composer so no harm done! 🙂
Best,
