However some of us are seriously missing the SSL support of the theme.
When will this happen?

Works fine with my site on https.
Can you describe the issue specifically you’re having with something not being secure.
Your site has to be properly setup for https and all your images possibly search/replaced if placed in code via phpmyadmin — theme cannot fix “content” for you or parts of WordPress or image folder, etc.

I need SSL for WordPress multisites 🙂
Earlier this year I tried to build a multisite with WordPress, however I couldn’t change the language due to problems with https.
SSL works fine on my site. If you are using multisite, make sure your SSL supports it.
I am using Let’s Encrypt, and enabling all domains with it.
However changing language in translation isn’t possible – it will not load :-/

Our theme is fully compatible with https if it;s done properly. If you cannot access translations, then you will have to use another way of creating a multi-site. We have not tested let’s encrypt with our theme so I can;t say for sure how it works. The multisite-thing I do handle pretty well.
As you are writing, then you haven’t tested Let’s Encrypt with your theme and a multisite………When you will do the testing, then you will find the problem with loading languages.
I will delete my https-enabled multisite for now, and then wait for the next version of Newspaper, hopefully having fixed the problem.

Well unfortunately we do not have a plugin testing department. I stated we did not test the plugin not that we will test it. In order to mark a plugin as tested and approved, lots of rigorous testing needs to be done and we need to adapt the theme code for each update of the specific plugin as we do with our current tested and recommended plugins. Let’s Encrypt is not among our priorities at the moment, Sorry. Please test the language loading with a non plugin multi-site as we cannot offer any support for plugin implementation.

But I understand that you have enough to test and work with.
Therefore, I will restart building the multisite without SSL.
Btw. I granted tagDiv/Staff access to my SSL-multisite earlier this year, and I just understood after you had looked at the SSL-multisite that it was a problem that you were trying to solve.
