I am just a standard page, not the tagdiv composer and added the standard ‘<!–nextpage–>’ tag on the page in text view. However, no pagination is working on the page.
– does the standard <!–nextpage–> not work?
– do I need to use the tagdiv editor to make this work?
– is there an accordion alternative?

That form of pagination will not work with the page templates of the theme (unless maybe code modifications). It will work for posts however

this is disappointing – any other way i can achieve pagination in pages? Alternatively, for standard pages, which template is used in the theme? I could make code modifications in a child theme maybe. Is there documentation how to overwrite parent theme templates?

You could copy the default page template in the child theme, and add this WordPress parameter
