Have updated to v6 of the theme and the plugins and can’t believe Pinterest still hasn’t been added to the tagDiv Social Counter plugin/widget. It’s one of the biggest social tools out there and this feature was has been requested numerous times for quite a while now 🙂
Is this something that is planned for the near future or will we have to edit the plugin files again to get it working?

I’ve managed to add the Pinterest code to the plugin files myself and have just tested it on our site – all appears to be working ok.
If anyone is interested I have made created a version for download (I hope this is ok) for people to use if they need this functionality. It was a simple case of copying some PHP switch cases but you use this at your own risk – I can’t accept any responsibility for any problems or issues!

Since there are hundreds of social media sites around the world and nobody needs the same things; it’s not practical for a theme to also include a comprehensive social media link manager and spend insane amount of time keeping that updated and working with all the sites and APIs that change frequently; often it’s best to use one of the dozen or so social media PLUG-INS commonly available and used by major websites … there are many choices that are one click drop-ins and work with theme instantly.
eg. 100,000* sites use this:

https://wordpress.org/plugins/social-media-widget/
If you’re unable to customize your site on your own, you might look at one of these beyond the popular AddThis and ShareThis stuff.

I assure you that we plan to add more options in Social Counter plugin, but unfortunately we worked hard to release version 6 of Newspaper theme and we had no time to develop Social Counter.
