Strange URLs and internal links being generated

Hi there. I have been getting a lot of crawling errors from google and most of them is happening because that are several internal links being found and/or created adding my website name to the end of regular URLs. It happens for categories, pages, tags, etc. Can you please give me any help? In the example below, the ending “/photocommand” does not exist, and most of the 200 errors I am getting have this ending text in the URL end.

For Example:

Error Detail: URL: http://www.photocommand.com/en/category/artigos/opinion/photocommand

Linked from:

http://www.photocommand.com/en/category/artigos/opinion/?filter_by=popular7
http://www.photocommand.com/category/artigos/opinion/?filter_by=popular7
http://www.photocommand.com/en/category/artigos/opinion/?filter_by=random_posts
http://www.photocommand.com/category/artigos/opinion/?filter_by=random_posts
http://www.photocommand.com/en/category/artigos/opinion/?filter_by=featured
http://www.photocommand.com/category/artigos/opinion/?filter_by=featured
http://www.photocommand.com/en/category/artigos/opinion/?filter_by=popular
http://www.photocommand.com/category/artigos/opinion/?filter_by=review_high
http://www.photocommand.com/en/category/artigos/opinion/

Hi,

I’m not sure why it is added /photocommand at the end of your url. These links with ?filter_by= appear on category page from this filter – http://screencast.com/t/F99WT9Rf6 so you could try to comment this line and see if the issue persist – http://screencast.com/t/AWJvKJubbw

Thanks!

Hi,

You can try to disable all the plugins that you think may cause this, also remove any custom modifications to the code and check .htaccess file if there is something(maybe you have added) that may cause this issue. Then verify your page again.
Anyway I’ve checked your page source and did not found that url, so I suspect that this link was accessed and the page was indexed by google and you still get this error until it will be re-indexed. In this case I can only suggest to ignore them for a while and wait for google to re-index your page.

Thanks!

Thank you one more time for looking into this, Alin. The only one I can suspect is the YOAST SEO, but it is too important for me to be turned off, the same with the qTranslate-X one. I have no custom mod and my .htaccess is pretty basic. That kind of link never existed on my site. I will continue to google search a solution. Thank you for your time.

Hi @per123

I’ve tried on my side and work fine, see here:

just rename the page title in both language to Blog.

@per123: I am using qtranslate-X. I just created a custom link in the menu pointing to the blog page and chose the same navigation label for both languages. As opposed to Marius, my page titles names are different for each language, but that is not what appears on the menu.

Hello,
The name you set to your menus will remain the same if you do not modify them:

If you want them to have different names in one language then simply edit their names when the language is selected in the menu area:

Thank you!
