Hi – hope this is something you can help with or at least be able to advise a compatible plugin that will work alongside your theme to allow the functionality i require.
I basically want to restrict all of my posts to subscriber only content, it won’t be a paid for site but i do want to capture some info details before allowing them to view the site content.
So the two things i require to set this up are:
1) How do i add extra fields to the register field (i want to capture 5 or 6 bits of info and also give them the option of a checkbox for newsletters etc)
2)I want them to be able to see the front page which will contain the standard ‘previews’ of posts ie feature image and short extract but once they click on a post or menu item i want the full post content ‘disabled’ until they sign up or login
An example of this can be seen on http://www.heraldscotland.com/ albeit they allow you to view 7 posts before a popup asks you to subscribe (they give some free articles as it is a paid for subscription service).

Unfortunately i cannot provide a solution for this because i didn’t do tests with such a plugin, hopefully someone who uses one will provide some feedback.
