I don’t know what happened, but I no longer have the options to ad subtitles or to choose various layouts for posts. And now that its not there I can’t describe it too well other than there were options for different size images, or videos, or other layouts.
Why would it just disappear? and how do I get those options back?

It is a simple plugin conflict. We see plugins remove theme options all the time.
Please disable all plugins except the page builder, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it.

Also – if it is ok to ask on this thread – when I update the theme to version 8 – my current pages will be live and active and then I’ll want to re create the home page.

You will have to re-create all your pages using the new page builder if you want to switch to the new builder now. You can simply remove the builder if you do not want to use it at the moment (it will install automatically)
Unfortunately both buuilders cannot be used at the same time as they will create issues with the layout. Only use one or the other.
In the future we do recommend switching to the new tagdiv composer as all the new featuers we plan to implement into our theme will only be available for the tagdiv composer. Visual composer will still be provided free of charge as an alternative option but we will no longer add new elements to it.

K – So I understand this correctly.
I update to Version 8. My site will not alter and be fully functional as is.
However, I’ll want to recreate any custom pages I have using the new TagDiv Composer and then change the pages out with the new pages upon final design of using TagDiv?

Yes, if you want to move to the new page builder, you will have to recreate your pages using the tagdiv composer and disable visual composer as both at the same time will not work properly.
