Posting this here since I didn’t see where your suggestion page might be.
– Having a widget with sharing buttons. This way we can put them on the side in lieu of having them at the top. That is, if we’re looking to keep them above the fold.
I know there are other plugins but at least this way they can be kept native to the theme instead of resorting to yet another plugin.

Thank you for your suggestion. I will add it to our list but it needs to become more popular if we are to consider implementing it into our themes. We have lots of requests and we prioritize by popularity.
