I’ve been trying to upload posts with streaming audio links but the blocks seem to ignore it unless they were uploaded through media.
Is there a way to do it to make it work?

Unfortunately this format doesn’t seem to be working or getting implemented in newspaper theme or wordpress honestly. you will need to use a shortcode if they can provide you one or any embedding option
