Always good to check the changelog included with new version of theme update, as that is likely best place to check on “updated for PHP7 compatiblity…”
Also, good to have hosting provider that allows you to chooser PHP 5.6 or 7x from your hosting panel (Plesk, CPanel, etc.), so you can “try” PHP7 and if nothing works, go back to 5.6x.
Hi Chris
Don’t see “updated for PHP7 compatiblity…” in the change log. That is for this theme and Newspaper. Yet TagDiv say yes tested their Newspaper theme and all ok.
Running a code checker relating to PHP 7 both produce three errors (all three the same, down from four). Visual Composer has one error reported (as above). That said, we have been running both themes with PHP 7 for months now with no obvious problems.
Be good if TagDiv could confirm they have also tested Newsmag for running under PHP 7 to remove any running doubt.
Thanks
Hello ShowbizCool,
We have not made any tests with newsmag for the moment. We did add PHP 7 compatibility with our newspaper theme and both themes share the same core. There is a slim change PHP 7 will not work with newsmag as well, but I cannot say for sure at the moment. We will run tests and add compatibility for it in the next theme update.
Thanks for your understanding!
