The hosting company we use does not support WP Super Cache which I see is the recommended caching plugin. My host does support WP Rocket and W3 Total Cache.
Do you recommend either of these cache tools to work well with Newspaper 11.5?

Yes, it can be used each of them with the theme, but the WP Rocket is the best one.
