There is a shortcode to create tabs, but it would be easier to use the element itself which can be found in visual composer: http://screencast.com/t/F0vqe7PeV9U and if you want to use the shortcode, after you create your tab in VC, simply enter classic and text mode and get the shortcode: http://screencast.com/t/9gDseDWSrZ7

Thanks for the fast response.
We would like to use tabs in the sidebar. Therefore we must rely on the shortcode approach. Is this going to work
if we enter the shortcode in a text widget?
