I would like to add a tab widget at the sidebar. is it possible to have 4 posts and the option of scrolling down to show more post but without changing the widget sidebar?

You can add a block in sideba chose one of the available ajax pagination from block settings: http://screencast.com/t/fqDDacHD The widget will automatically extend according to your settings.

Thank you for your answer but i do not want a widget with the “extend” utility a i want a widget with a scroll down bar on the side.

The theme does’t have a scroll down bar for widgets, you will need custom modification to achieve that. Unfortunately we cannot offer custom work as we work hard on the development, updates, fixes and support, but you can look for a freelancer from sites like: http://studio.envato.com/ to do it for you.
