Tag Div composer – Unable to add WordPress Default Widgets

Hi Previously i was using Newspaper 7 with visual composer and I was able to add WordPress Default Widgets like Categories and other available widgets to the homepage. I am referring to this setting from VisualComposer. However after upgrading to Newspaper 8.7, I cannot see these options of WordPress widgets in the tag div composer. I am particularly interested with the Categories option to have a drop down of all the categories in my homepage. Note that my homepage does not have sidebar.

Hi,

In the tagDiv composer there is only a popular category widget at the moment

You could display WordPress widgets with a widget sidebar element, that would be a solution in this case

There are plans to make modifications to how the theme handles the widgets in the future.
