Tag Page does not work – 404 errors

Hi there,

I’m having an issue with the tag page.

I have the same setup on production, staging and localhost but I’m getting 3 different pages when I go to the tag page.

Production site produces a 404 error. – all plugins activated
Staging site (on a server) produces recent posts instead of posts specific to the tag. – only visual editor plugin activated
Localhost displays tag page properly. – all plugins activated.

I already tried deactivating plugins one by one but that’s not it since the localhost setup works with all the plugins activated. Beyond the plugins, is there anything else that could be conflicting with the tag page?

Make sure tag name is not identical to a category name, post name, or author name; that is most common problem.

Thanks, but that’s not it. All my tags are giving out 404s.

Maybe retry saving your permalinks…
check your htaccess file for any bizarre redirects.

Make sure you don’t have a funky /slug/ replacing /tags/ in the permalinks setup.

Check the default template for tags, and resave in theme panel.

Just ideas …

Also try without plugins, and if you still get the same 404 errors afterwards let us know and address us via email at contact@tagdiv.com including a link to this conversation and also give us wp-access so we can have a closer look at this and we will get back to your as soon as possible.
